National Homecare Medicine Services Management

The National Homecare Medicine Committee (NHMC) is a sub group of the National Pharmaceutical Market Supply Group (NPSG) and act as the national focus for developing and improving administration and governance processes for medicine homecare services in the United Kingdom

NHS LPP supports the work for the NHMC through engagement with the sub groups that are driving development, guidance and documentation for homecare services. LPP also supports trust homecare leads with the implementation and management of homecare services

 

NHMC Standardisation Group

Leads and reports on the standardisation of processes and documentation relating to homecare services within homecare organisation including the NHS

 

NHMC Supplier Engagement Group

Leads and reports on activities related to the performance management of homecare services within the NHS. Works closely with national homecare leads from the Commercial Medicines Unit (CMU) in relation to performance management and national contracting where appropriate

 

NHMC Digital Strategy Group

Leads and reports on activities related to digital developments within homecare services

 

Working with key stakeholders

The NHMC aims to work collaboratively with NHS trusts, homecare providers and manufacturers to develop new and innovative homecare service initiatives. There are currently two key national documents relating specifically to the management and best practice of homecare:

Professional Standards for Homecare Services in England – Royal Pharmaceutical Society (2013)

Handbook for Homecare Services in England – Royal Pharmaceutical Society (2014)
